This colonial designed home was nothing short of difficult. This home was two stories, steep, and bad access. We even had to build a wall that was 20ft tall to protect the neighbor’s property. This home endured a significant hail and wind storm in June 2016. During the inspection of the home, we noticed there were several areas towards the top of the ridge where the decking was rotted and beginning to buckle. We also noticed the home had no ventilation, which was causing heat blistering and shortening the life of the shingles.
We removed the old 3-tab shingles, replaced the rotted decking with OSB sheathing, and made all necessary repairs to ensure the decking was sound and ready for the new shingles. We installed Owens Corning Tru-def Duration Storm impact resistant shingles, Owens Corning Deck Defense synthetic underlayment, Owens Corning ice and water shield, Owens Corning intake ventilation, and Owens Corning ridge vent exhaust ventilation. Through the insurance claim process, we could restore this beautiful home with a brand-new roof and updated ventilation system.
